In the spirit of supporting the community, members of the Holmdel Township Education Association (HTEA) donated $1,000 to show their appreciation for hospital workers treating COVID-19 patients at Bayshore Hospital.
During their lunch breaks on April 15, members of the HTEA delivered cupcakes from “Confections of a Rock$tar” to the hospital workers. Confections of a Rock$tar is a local bakery in Asbury Park that has been temporarily closed during the COVID-19 quarantine.
“Even though our members have been putting in long days educating and feeding our students, we still wanted to thank our hospital workers who are putting themselves at risk every day,” said HTEA President Denise King. “We thought that sending cupcakes would not only help a local business, but give the hospital workers a nice surprise. It’s hard to be sad when you’re eating a cupcake!”
