Special delivery delights Cinnaminson students

By Amanda Phillips, Cinnaminson Education Association

I am a special education teacher for students in grades 2-5 educator at Eleanor Rush Intermediate School, in Cinnaminson, NJ. My students have been working diligently with me during remote learning! Their parents have been an amazing support system to their children in their academic and emotional endeavors!

Each Thursday, I reward my students who have completed their work, and made good choices at home with a “Happy Drop Off,” which is a happy meal.

This past Thursday, I knew that I needed to do more! I called the local Domino’s pizza franchise and asked for help to provide dinner to my much deserved student’s families. I was so pleased to hear the owner tell me he would donate all of the pizzas!

Wearing a mask and practicing social distancing, I  dropped the pizzas off to each family’s house, along with a sign telling my students how proud I am of them.

It felt so good to be able to do this for my students! Even with remote learning, my students continue to remain motivated!

One of my student’s mothers took to social media and shared what she had posted. It made my heart feel so proud that I could bring a ray of sunshine into this time of uncertainty!
