Hospitals across the nation have been overwhelmed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Elizabeth is home to nearly 130,000 residents and their main medical facility, Trinitas Regional Medical Center, has treated thousands of patients from Elizabeth and the surrounding areas during this time of crisis.
The frontline health care workers and the entire staff are heroes to the community they serve. Their staff continues to work day and night to care for the sick, all while risking their own safety, and dealing with incredible levels of stress.
Therefore, when the Elizabeth Education Association (EEA) had the opportunity to help, we did and we will continue to do so. Over the past four weeks, and with PRIDE funding, the EEA partnered with four local restaurants to send more than 500 complete hot meals to the amazing staff at Trinitas.
We were also able to provide 400 surgical masks to help in the Cancer Center and for use by other non-critical units.
The Elizabeth Education Association appreciates our frontline health care workers, and just like the signs in front of the medical center state, they truly are “Trinitas Strong!”
